  1. Hmmm, I'm not sure I'll be able to reach a 100 either, certainly not right now off the top of my head while I'm at church & with a cold. But I'll throw out a few.

    1. Blade Runner
    2. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
    3. Casablanca
    4. The Big Sleep
    5. The Maltese Falcon
    6. The Truman Show
    7. Les Miserables (2012)
    8. Star Wars IV (While I really like Empire & Return, it was the original that really stands alone.)
    9. The Adventures of Robin Hood
    10. The Lord of the Rings (Ralph Bakshi version)
    11. Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone
    12. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Even despite the appearance of Michael Gambon & shrunken heads.)
    13. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 1 & 2 (More 1 than 2 but they kind of go together.)
    14. The Fifth Element
    15: Rocky Horror Picture Show
    16. Murder on the Orient Express
    17. Jaws
    18. Jesus Christ Superstar

I'll have to think some more. :)

    1. I feel the same way about Star Wars. Enjoyed them all, but IV was the real winner.

Do you know, I've never seen Jesus Christ Superstar? Crazy. I like Andrew Lloyd Webber, too.

P.S. I only included LotR because I needed a hundred. Even as is, I probably should've booted Return of the King and left Chocolat on. ;)

    2. You liked the movie Chocolat?! Our friendship is over.

Just kidding....well, kind of ;-) *grumble grumble harumph* I hated that movie almost as much as The Cider House Rules. It's hard to say what annoyed me the most: the spineless priest who allows the town bully to rewrite his sermons; the cardboard-cutout of the repressed, miserably unhappy religious hypocrite (Alfred Molina's character) whose top priority in life is to go around making sure everyone is following the rules and therefore as unhappy as he is; or the juxtaposition of Juliet Binoche and Johnny Depp's characters as the daring nonconformists (who are necessarily sexually amoral), the only two people in the whole town who are truly happy. That movie bugged the hell out of me. But it must have struck you differently if it almost made your Top 100 list!

I was delighted to see so many other of my favorites on your list; it was like being reminded of the existence of a dozen old, dear friends I had forgotten about.

    4. Hmmmmmm. Well. I saw that movie, like, seven years ago. Before I was Catholic, so the word 'priest' meant 'someone else's religion' to me. I remember the film being artsy and ambient, if a little amoral at points, but even now I don't remember the priest! and only vaguely the hypocrite.

So yeah, probably I'd hate it nowadays. ;)

    1. Hey, I liked South Pacific! Totally forgot about that one. And Music Man, and Oklahoma... don't know if the latter would've made it in, but SP probably would have.

I've only seen the first half hour or so of Brigadoon. I would love to finish it, but from what I remember, it's likely to put Lou straight to sleep, so maybe I'll have to find other watching company. ;)
